Traineeships in Home Cinema?

Hey there everyone, Alex here

I'm almost 18 and have been working within various industries since the age of 16. Ranging from tv media to sales.

Always had an interest in electronics, especially tv's and audio gear.

Are there any traineeships etc. out there?

Cheers
Alex

Re: Traineeships in Home Cinema?

its actually alot harder to get into custom install or systems integration. than it use to be The usual route would be you would start off as a trainee installation engineer or a wireman and then eventually work up to full installation engineer or a wireman normally as long as you where vaguely technical minded they'd give you a trial. That said we have one guy who was the least technical person you could come across but was a amazing wireman. The eventull carreer route would be into project management. Design and programming are very hard to break into. This is mainly for residential integrators though

Its alot harder to get into corporate AV now. Even to start off as a trainee installation engineer you need a basic technical qualification say electronics at college or even a electrician.

As for design we dont take any trainee project engineers or designers unless they have a university qualification now. Even programming now we are training a guy at the moment that did software engineering at uni

It also depends what area of the country your and also what area of AV you want to get into
