AV installation and project managment positions available

Hello All,
As the topic states I have 2 positions available for the following positions:
- AV Installation engineer
- AV Technical project manager

If you have been in the corporate / home AV industry for more than 4 years I would very much be interested in taking a look at your CV.

We are located in the home counties and primarily service the London area.

My apologies to the forum admins if this type of advertising is not allowed or if I have posted in the wrong topic.

Many thanks for taking a look.

Regards

Steve

Hi also - what is the exact location (and approx. salaries for both positions to give an idea of whether it's worth the time and effort of applying wouldn't hurt, considering how my last couple of job interviews went where they didn't actually want to pay their advertised salaries....)

Have you ever thought that your attitude might be getting in your way Sean?

Re: AV installation and project managment positions available

Not at all, I'm upfront and honest over the phone to the recruitment guy, who tells me exactly what the advertised salary is, I then reciprocate by telling him that provided that they are prepared to pay the maximum of what has been mentioned I am interested as anything less wouldn't be worth changing jobs for. I'm then upfront and honest at the interview, the guy tells me that I'm the best candidate he's had put forward, and then either one of:

1. Offers me the minimum of the advertised band saying that they can't afford to pay any more.
2. Offers me the maximum but no company van (as stated by the recruitment chappie) when the job is 30 miles away and will cost me the difference between my current salary and what they are offering in fuel, plus an extra day of work a week (I'm on a 4 day week in my current role) and about 15-20 more hours than I work now including travel.....

That is what I call wasting around one and a half days of my life and £30 in fuel for what amounts to false advertising and lying.

That's why I generally want to know the salary before I get interested in a position and restructuring my life around said position. One recruiter actually failed to mention to a company that I'd been to an unsuccessful interview with the same guy 18 months before, so that got that interview off to a good start, and also told me that the role was some 25 miles closer to where I live than the interview location (and head office) in order to get me to show up - so another day and 30 quids worth of fuel there.

My attitude now is very much laissez faire until people stop wasting my time and start being more upfront - I don't want to be sold a job and then find out it isn't all it cracked up to be, I want to apply for one that is correctly advertised and then either accept it or be unsuccessful - there's no point being successful in an interview for a worthless position!! And spending a third of my disposable income in a month on attending job interviews that prove to be a waste of time one month before christmas doesn't exactly get me in the mood for any other speculative applications and stupid offers.

Re: AV installation and project managment positions available

That's recruitment agents for you. I have found (from both looking for candidate and looking for jobs) very few that actually take the time to offer a decent service. They all seem to use the shotgun technique, send hundreds of CVs for each position hoping that one will stick and their commission will be earned. It's the lazy approach which with little effort probably nets the same amount of cash for them as spending the time getting the right candidate for the right job.

The best thing to do is to send letters and CVs out to companies in the location that you want to work that cater for the areas of the industry you are interested in. It often gives you a slight advantage as there are no hideous introduction fees for the prospective employer to pay out.

I will second that.

My pet hate, Is when it will say a skill on a CV that when questioned on it, turns out to be worthless.

Tech interviews 'If it is on your CV - YOU WILL BE ASKED ABOUT IT
