AV magazine film/DVD reviews

Hi,

I just wondered if anyone here has any connection, or ideas about, writing for home cinema magazines. I've been freelancing for a couple of (music/film)magazines and websites for about four years; writing film reviews and interviewing actors/directors and I'd be like to widen my reach to av mags, as a passionate AVphile?

advice appreciated.

thanks

Johnny

Re: AV magazine film/DVD reviews

You could try looking at the various publishers websites where they have details on any jobs going, even freelance details. However, most of the magazines tend to use the same freelancers from an established pool of writers, so it may be difficult to break into this circle.
However, the web is the real future for magazines with many sites now adding their own editorial teams, we have one here which is still in it's infancy but growing all the time.

Re: AV magazine film/DVD reviews

Thanks for your answer.

I'm trying to break into the "pool" at a variety of places.

My technical knowledge is pretty good, so I'm broadening out from film reviews to HD DVD / Blue-Ray reviews and maybe some AV content.

Regards

FG
