Does anyone know of any good AV wholesale suppliers where I could regularly buy a diverse range of AV equipment ?

I am prepared to make purchases regularly, and, as and when I need equipment rather than being subjected to mandatory minimum quantity purchases. To this effect, I am willing to pay upfront for everything that I buy. Eventually, as we build a good working relationship and credibility, I may be able to enjoy 60 to 90 days credit with all payments being fulfilled punctually.

I need to work with suppliers who offer excellent service, support and are always willing to help. It would make it so much easier to deal with one or two really good wholesalers who can provide the following: Projectors (InFocus, JVC), Projection Screens (Draper etc, manual+auto), Projector Mounts (good but reasonably priced), LCD+Plasma TVs (Panasonic etc), 5.1 speaker systems (KEF KHT range, Tannoy Arena etc), good cost effective speaker cable and interconnects, AV Receivers (Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha etc), DVD & Blue-Ray Players (Panasonic BD35, Denon 1800BD), iPOD Docks, Remote controllers (Logitech).

Any suggestions or information pertaining to my request will be highly appreciated.

Midwich is about the only multi-account distributor that springs to mind.

Most of the product you listed is supplied through dedicated distributors either owned by, or working exclusively for, each manufacturer.

I really appreciate the contact you've given me - I will certainly check them out.

You're certainly right, the products that I am interested in are being distributed by different companies but it would be so much easier to deal with one wholesale supplier.

Are you a custom installer ?

Assuming you're trade, one other distributor you might want to take a look at is Marata Vision in Watford. They stock many brands.

You happen to be a very informed and knowledgeable person, would you be as kind enough as to refer me to some really good wholesalers of AV products. I know there must be a whole lot out there but there must be one or two that are really good in terms of price and service. A supplier that respects and caters to installers regardless how small or big they are ?

Any help will really be appreciated.

I appreciate you want to get into this industry, and that I applaud.

However, handing out names of distro's on a public forum is a little shortsighted? don't want everyone setting up companies and opening trade accounts do we?

Have a look at CEDIA UK - Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association - Welcome to CEDIA and there you would be able to look further at the industry as a whole, speak to knowledgeable people within the industry through networking events and the annual Cedia show (which has been and gone) but you would do a lot worse than go to ISE where you would learn more in a day than you would in a month on the phone.

have you experience within this industry already? project management experience?

I only ask as we're on our third or fourth repair job of the year (ie repairing someone elses dodgy installation) ..

Well, I don't have allot of experience in the industry but I believe in doing things right and without compromise. I have a meticulous no compromise attitude in everything that I do. If I don't know how to do something, I will invest enormous amounts of time learning about it so that I can apply it properly and to a professional level (or close). I must thank members of this forum for their willingness to assist others, explain things and offer solutions to real world problems - People on this forum have been a great help

I have always been passionate about AV technology, so I guess for me it's not just about work, it's about enjoying the whole process and having to deal with all the challenges that come with it.
