For Sale : DISPUTE - MODS PLEASE LOOK IN

please forgive me for being a p.i.t.a but i am at my wits end regarding this dispute

http://www.avforums.com/forums/dispu...peakers-3.html

i am not satisfied with the pm's LFC has sent me basically saying the mods are not doing anything regarding getting the seller who is at fault here, to refund me in full asap.

can the mods please give me their opinions as far as i am concerned this is outrageous i have to wait 6,7 or 8 weeks before i get a refund from the seller, surely something is way wrong when a seller can treat a buyer in such an appaulling way.

since LFC is not prepared to do anything im hoping the mods as a groep may get on the case and do something to assist me,

i apologise again for posting this but whats a guy to do , sit on my hands and do nothing , no sorry something needs sorted out here.

regards robert

I have read the trading rules and agree to abide by them at all times until the transaction is concluded to the satisfaction of all parties involved : Yes.

By replying to this thread you agree to abide by the trading rules detailed here.

Please be advised, all buyers and sellers should satisfy themselves that the other party is genuine by providing the following via PM to each other after negotiations are complete and prior to dispatching goods and making payment:

1) Landline telephone number. Make a call to check out the area code and number are correct too!
2) Name and address including postcode
3) Valid e-mail address (no disposable addresses such as @gmail or @yahoo for example).

DO NOT proceed with a deal until you are completely satisfied with all details being correct. It's in your best interest to check out these details yourself.

Also we advise that the vendor post images of the items for sale. This helps your sale by showing the condition of the goods prior to dispatch.

As far as i can tell from all the posts and rules, YOU should have had a full refund from the seller and then the seller has to "try" and claim back his loss.

..but the seller is on a trading ban for his part in this. What more realistically can the mods do? They can't actually get his money back can they?

I have not said the "mods" should get his money back. I have just said that the seller should have made a refund as to me it seems like he is dragging it out !! No maliciousness intended (unless you wanna draw AV cables at dawn ??) And he has had time to sort this be for his ban............

That is really harsh, seller should just give a refund and deal with royal mail himself.

the seller cannot be held responsible for items lost by royal mail. if the buyer did not request insured delivery then it is his fault for trying to save a few quid.

Re: For Sale : DISPUTE - MODS PLEASE LOOK IN

I've been having a big clearout recently and sold a load of stuff.
1 turned up broken ( speakers ) and
1 didn't turn up at all ( thankfully just a blu ray disc )

BUT. As a seller i IMHO think it's only fair to make sure it lands on your doorstep intact.
I have offered to return the money to the buyer of the speakers while i sort out the RM claim and paid the other bloke for his blu ray ( it was a trade deal )
Sure it's not the sellers fault RM lost it but the seller should deal with it.

Return the cash paid i say and deal with the claim yourself. I call it doing the right thing!
How would you feel if you paid for something in good faith and didn't get it or got it broken? mystic_bertie i'm right behind you mate. Good luck.

Totally incorrect. The buyer will only ever be held at fault by the mods if they have specifically requested a low cost postage method. Otherwise, sellers must price their postage accordingly to ensure an item is insured for its value should the worst happen.

For this item, proof of postage was all that is required, so the postage method was fine.

In this case, the seller should have refunded immediately. You have to use a little bit of common sense here, the PO cannot prove an item has been delivered if a signed for service has not been used, so the refund will be forthcoming. Why, therefore, should the buyer be out of pocket for weeks, especially when we are talking such a low value item.

This is why the seller has a trading ban pending resolution of the problem.

Finally, the trading forum is not for general discussion so I will be locking the thread now. If anyone has a problem with a deal, then please PM a mod about it. Thanks
