My GF is seriously considering this. Did you call them to confirm its collection only? Or am I having a blind moment and have just missed it.
One other thing, I remember someone stating the power rating on these was ridiculous, can anyone confirm?

Yes, this is stipulated by Panasonic. You have to buy in person in-store to qualify for such a big discount.

Ok thanks for clearing that up.
Would this come with a 1 year warranty? The alternative would be to get John Lewis to price match, but i'd like to give these guys my business since they have actually offered the price in the first place.

Re: Panasonic TH50PZ80
I got mine in December for £920 delivered with 5 year Panasonic guarantee after paying in the shop. The price of the tv soon went up after this though. If anyone is sitting on the fence about this tv then don't. It's great!

The only thing thats putting me off a little is the power consumption. Figure it will equate to about £10/month given my usage. The newer Panny's are supposed to be better in that respect, but not sure by how much. Also the only alternative really is a Pio and even if that is more efficient, I'm not sure it will be by enough to justify the GF spending twice as much
BTW can you confirm the fans run silent (or atleast you can't hear them from 6-8ft away)?

I have a PZ46 and it is effectively silent.
Not sure what the power consumption equates to in real terms - but then I was running a huge fishtank until a few months ago with 1000W of lighting and ~500W of pumps.
I'm very happy with mine and the elec bills aren't huge. If you want cheaper running costs then an LCD is an alternative - I went with what I felt gave me the best pic quality for the price.

I think (and correct me if I'm wrong), that the power consumption isn't constant on a plasma like it is on an lcd. If its black on screen- then it's not using any power, so it fluctuates alot more than LCD screens of a similar size.
I'm sure its more complicated but I only learn the basics
