HDMI 4 way switching box - £30.00

Not sure how much these normally go for, but the RRP says £120.00 for these powered QED One Series HDMI 4 way switching boxes, so looks like a deal to me at £30.

QED One Series HDMI 4 Way Switching Box - Switching Boxes - Audiovisual Online - High Quality Audio Video Cables and Accessories

Features:

* Fully HDCP compliant (High bandwidth Digital Content Protection)
* Includes IR remote for easy switching between devices
* Will support the new HDTV resolution standards
* No need to disconnect and reconnect multiple devices

Re: HDMI 4 way switching box - £30.00

just to make you aware - they are also selling this:
QED HDMI Switching Unit - 4 Way - New 1080p Spec Compliant - HDMI, Component and DVI switches - Audiovisual Online - High Quality Audio Video Cables and Accessories

which to me, suggests the £30 one doesn't support 1080p, so it may be worth doing some research before buying

Re: HDMI 4 way switching box - £30.00

https://www.paceshop.com/shop/produc...hing-box-4-way

This website says they are not 1080p compliant.

It doesn't mean it wont pass 1080p though, probably means its not HDMI1.3 compliant or can pass enough data to be classed as CAT 2.

Very tempted to get this for my 720p TV downstairs and to allow me to use my oppo with my 1080p projector.

Re: HDMI 4 way switching box - £30.00

But there advert on amazon says it will do 1080p?

The confusion over these HDMI 1.3, CAT 2 compliant is ridiculous.

It hink this will do 1080p no problem but cant be labelled as 1.3 compliant or CAT 2 compliant cos it wont do 1440p or tru colour.

Re: HDMI 4 way switching box - £30.00

didn't 1.3 add support for HD Audio? Perhaps it can only pass 1080p video but not sound as well.. only one way to find out it seems, as there doesnt appear to be any information on the net about this thing...

Re: HDMI 4 way switching box - £30.00

it does support 1080....but I worked out using my quad core media pc to be the media server to the ps3, so have dismantled my htpc, hence no need for the hdmi switch now!!

only used it once!

Re: HDMI 4 way switching box - £30.00

my pc is set at 1080p 24hz and once booted up runs bluray films perfectly through the QED box

I get an incompatibility warning during bootup but that is the pc changing resolutions for some reason I think.

The QED appears to work flawlessly.

What about bitstreaming DTS MA HD sound? Can you do that using your set up?

Im assuming theres not a problem but someone raised it as a potential issue.
