Sharp Aquos BD-HP20H Blu-Ray Disc Player only £99 @ Bargain Crazy

So is this worth the £99 asking price (+ £3.95 del)? No dts-hd by accounts, no hd-dvd playback either. But it can (allegedly) be switched to and from Region A/B via software. Quidco as well.

Can be found here

Re: Sharp Aquos BD-HP20H Blu-Ray Disc Player only £99 @ Bargain Crazy

Ordered one yesterday. Just received an email saying that it's been dispached and I got a tracking number.
Fingers crossed, I should receive it Monday or Tuesday!
For a total of £102.95 inc delivery, I don't think that I care that I can't watch the geeky picture in picture stuff!
If it arrives, turns on and plays the discs, I'll be happy. I'm also interested to see how bad the DVD playback is, as the reviews really hate it's standard def picture.

Might be interested in this - can the OP explain about the region switching, as I'm looking for a multi-region standalone player?

Re: Sharp Aquos BD-HP20H Blu-Ray Disc Player only £99 @ Bargain Crazy

Just arrived this morning

For £100 it's fantastic. Very happy with it.

If you are thinking of getting one then make sure you know its limitations because it does have some drawbacks. I really wanted analogue output, that's why I bought it over, say, a Sony BDP350 etc which can be had for about £140 which is v1.1 or higher.

Anyway, for a cheap Bluray player I'm stoked.

ps Just a word of warning : They do ship it through "Home Delivery Network Ltd" ( Hndl.co.uk - Hndl Resources and Information. ) who need to have the package signed for upon delivery, so make sure there is someone available to collect or you'll be doing the dreaded parcel hunt around your county. They don't have the best reputation for deliveries but I can say that they were fine with me.
