really annoying that there's no richer sounds anywhere near me, not even in the same county i don't think.. they'd get so much more business if they actually let you order more stuff online.

you could always get a friend who lives near one to buy it for you and then send it to you. even with the extra £25-30 postage still a bargain.Mike

I phoned Richer Sounds (Belfast) this morning and they were all out of the black version.

They are ordering one in for me but I won't have it until mid Jan. They are however honouring the VIP price even though it expires on the 22/12/2008.

can i ask for advice i wanted to buy the denon 1909 but now i can afford to pay up to £400.
which av receiver would sound better than the 1909?

picked mine up today at the new even lower price - from Reading store

Salesman gave me a hard sell on buying the Onkyo 606 instead at £349 - said it was a much better unit.... presume they have surplus to shift

The same thing happened me when I phoned them. I was told that 3 of the staff owned the 606 and only one owner of the 1909. I'm going for the 1909 because I don't need the grunt of the 606, but am put of by some of the set-up problems people are having.
