Bose SoundDock iPod Speakers - £149 - Black Or White

I was in the John Lewis that just opened in Leicester and came across it in the store. Its the same price online, with free delivery. The price is by far the cheapest i've found, even cheaper than eBay. Available in black or white. I cant believe the portable one, is twice the price

Black: http://www.johnlewis.com/230335127/Product.aspx

White: http://www.johnlewis.com/230212165/Product.aspx

Tried demo-ing it in store, but its impossible to tell how it sounds due to so much ambient noise as well as it being a massive open area. I think ill buy it, try it at home and return it if it doesnt work well, seeing as they have a 28 days returns policy.

Enjoy.

I thought they had reduced the RRP on this, so should be £149 everywhere shortly. Agree though that this is a great bit of kit for a decent price considering how much a decent dock costs

Yeah, I just saw last night, Currys are also selling it for £149 now lol.

I came across this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...%3D4%26ps%3D42

£8 delivered, plug a decent set of 2.1 speakers into it, and you've probably got better sound than the bose. I dont even think the dock requires a power source, only if you want to charge the ipod at the same time.

Re: Bose SoundDock iPod Speakers - £149 - Black Or White

Yeah it does appear to be £150 everywhere except Amazon which is surprising.

Never really considered the Bose sounddock as I thought they were still £200-£250

Was going to go for the igroove at £100 but might just go for the Bose at £150 simply because it comes in white and for the Bose brand.

I seem to recall via magazine adverts that bose were offering some earphones or something at half price if you bought their sounddock. I cant for the life of me find this advert nor any such offers online. Anyone else seen such an offer?

could this link be what you mean in relation to half price in earphones, its a bit of a con really as you have to buy a bag for the unit at the same time , so they make you think you have half price headphones but you spend the savings on a bag you never really wanted ad probably wont use

Re: Bose SoundDock iPod Speakers - £149 - Black Or White

Comet are doing a promotion on these Bose Sounddock's again, just bought one for £125 in store.

Although the first one i bought didn't charge my 2g iphone. But there one on there display did which was another reason i bought it.
The sales guy tried to argue it doesn't charge until i showed him on their display unit.

The replacement now charges my iphone and i'm very pleased with it!

I believe that the ones Comet have at the reduced price are the ones that haven't been updated for the more modern i-Pods. The black ones we have all have updated software for 3G and i-pod Touch.

Re: Bose SoundDock iPod Speakers - £149 - Black Or White

It's good that the classic dock is coming down in price, but I really want the portable one ... looks like I have to spend £300!

I just want the convenience of no cables, and the freedom to move it around the house (and on rare occasions take it out and about).

Re: Bose SoundDock iPod Speakers - £149 - Black Or White

One of the reasons for the price drop is that there is a new classic version:
BOSE® - SoundDock® digital music system: Specifications

so there are three in total to choose from now:
1: Version 1 classic = rrp £149 (£136 from HiFix BOSE SOUNDDOCK IPOD BLACK SOUNDDOCK CLASSIC IPOD SYSTEM BLACK £136.04 at hifix.co.uk)
2: Version 2 classic = rrp £215
3: Portable = rrp £293 (£263 with 2yrs guarantee from John Lewis:
Buy Bose® SoundDock® Portable Digital Music System, Black online at JohnLewis.com)

All three are here:
BOSE® - iPod® Speakers – iPod® Docking Stations – SoundDock® digital music systems

All I can see is that the newer version just looks sleeker than the 1st classic one, thats it (?)
