Panny 42pz70 - £599

For those of you looking for a bargain plasma the Panasonic 42PZ70 came down to £599 in Currys today.

Looking round most stores only had their display models left but these may not have been out for long due to Panasonics short supply during the Christmas period.

So if you don't mind an ex display model and don't mind using the frankly sub standard service you get from Currys I think its a bit of a steal.

Incedently the 50" came down to £999 as well

Re: Panny 42pz70 - £599

I think you'll find that that's the PX70 - not PZ70

Definately the PZ mate,

Although we did get rid of our PX's at 599 too.

Re: Panny 42pz70 - £599

Where have you seen it?

I rang Currys and they don't have it listed - just the PZ700. It isn't on the website either.

So I went into my local Currys and they had the 50PX70 at £999. Can't imagine for a moment they'd sell them at the same price.

Is this just in your local branch and it's a 'Managers Special' or something?

Re: Panny 42pz70 - £599

Incidentally, neither Currys or Comet had a half-decent demo of the Panny sets - but decent demos of the Phillips and LG's. The 50PX70 had dreadful coloured lines down the middle. I really don't know how those places stay in business.

The guy in Comet didn't have much of a clue, didn't offer to put a decent source on...and virtually just walked away!!! Not that I would have parted with £1,499 for a 50PZ70

Re: Panny 42pz70 - £599

It is the PZ70 at £599.

As of yesterday most stores (in the North West) were showing just display units, don't know about the rest of the country, I didn't bother to check.

It will have been taken off the net because it is now end of line and their is no more stock due in. Not sure what the situation is now cos I wasn't at work today, but i'd imagine the few left will more likely have not gone

Re: Panny 42pz70 - £599

Just been on the phone to the Currys head office and they can only find one in Chesterfield. None in the northwest, but if someone knows any different then please let me know as I am very keen to get one of these for this price
