24" M-PVA monitor £240 (poss £205ish)

Took delivery today of the following monitor

1920x1200 with DVI and VGA inputs. It is also HDCP compliant.

It's £240 normally but every now and again they stick 5 on super special wher they are £164+VAT.

Well impressed.

I 2nd that - got mine today too after it was recommended on the hotdeals forum. Great monitor, uses the same panel as Acer, Benq and LG models that cost over twice as much!

Yes, the overclockers one DOES NOT support HDCP.

I am using it as my replacement TV have got a Xbox 360 connected via D-Sub and the EP-30 HD-DVD player connected via HDMI and find it to be very good indeed.

I have audio going to a 5.1 amp that I have borrowed from my PC for the moment.

The monitor comes with a HDMI to DVI cable with was a very welcome surprise.

I order from Aria. Only slight niggles are the stand is not height adjustable and the power light is a bright blue with can be a bit distracting.

Well worth money especially if you can catch it on special at Aria

Am I right in saying that it will not do 1:1 pixel mapping, so BD (or HD DVD) will be scalled to fill the panel height? I wonder if there is anything that can be done about that?

PS: I have one of these monitors on it's way. It's meant to be the one with the latest A-MVA V4 panel (92% NTSC).

I have both and used them on an XBOX360, Vista media center with BR/HD and on a desktop PC.

For XBOX360 and Media centre at 10ft, the Dell is very good, mainly due to its native 1080p panel. Image is sharp and not soft where obvious multi stage scaling has taken place. However, colours, posterisation and off axis viewing are only good in my opinion.

For desktop PC use at 2ft, with occaisional media center (on PC) use the Yuraku is significantly better at colour, posterisation and off-axis viewing. Again, the image is very sharp despite the reduced distance and I have to admit that even though there is some scaling (it's 1920x1200) I can't really see a huge drop in image quality. However, you must balance this up with the fact that the panel type fitted in the Yuraku can and does vary so you may not get one of the latest panels. You should also consider that many of the badged Yurakus have similar panel type variability and several have no HDCP.
