Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
Roku Soundbridge wireless enabled network music player for only £86.95 from Expansys
Great bargain seeing as they sell the more DRM restrictive but otherwise near identical pinnacle branded unit for over £140!

Re: Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
Any idea why the Pinnacle version is classed as HR (High Resolution) when this is not?

Re: Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
As far as I know the only difference between the two is that the Pinnacle branded units don't support the Apple protocol due to licensing issues.
I believe the only model with a different screen to the Roku M1001 is the Roku M500 model which uses an LCD instead of a VFD display
Maybe worth taking a look on the support pages at www.rokulabs.com

Re: Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
US models requiring a shaver adapter & delivery's a bit steep taking the total up to just shy of £100. Also awaiting stock which appears can mean anything in Expansys speak.
Still tempted though at around half the price of a Squeezebox.

Re: Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
Hi there,
Sorry I see this is a month old thread.. but heres my ten pence worth s
A friend has just bought one back from the US for me, it's the m1001 model.
I have to say I'm very pleased with it so far in terms of sound quality and ease of setup, it even downloaded a software update which gave it WPA Wifi security which is beyond WEP. The supported databases give you access to over 9000 stations worldwide plus the system will let you listen to exactly what you want.
Cheers Tric

Re: Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
Hi. Got one of these delivred from expansys today. Great bit of kit. Only having a problem getting it to recognise firefly so i can play flac. Im sure ill suss it eventually. Plays mp3 through windows media player perfectly. Also the Internet radio works a treat. Still got to sort out Radio 1 though.
You can get £10 off by doing the following, i did, use code GSK6844780
enter voucher code into the "How did you hear about us" field on the checkout page. If ordering over the phone quote code to sales advisor.
Also i beleive if you use paypal you automatically get £10 off the order. Both cases are for orders £20 and above.
I have paired the roku up with a Beresford DAC from here http://www.homehifi.co.uk/TC-7510/orderuk.html. And i have to say i am more than pleased with the sound. And an added bonus is that both the roku and the DAC are black, about the same width. The DAC has more depth. So the setup looks as goodas it sounds.

Re: Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
Hi gsrai. When you add the product to your basket. Then go checkout. its on the screen where you enter your payment details. just scroll down a bit and look for the "How did you hear about us" field on the checkout page. If ordering over the phone quote code to sales advisor.
itdoesnt show automatically but when you check your order status at some point it shows above the roku details.
cheers, pixel

Re: Roku Soundbridge M1001 under £90!
These are now back in stock at Bigpockets.
Can anyone who's ordered from them confirm these are 'Soundbridge M1001,'
model?
Thanks

They look like the lower spec Home Music player. Not a patch on the proper M1001 I'm afraid. The M1001 is worth the extra just for the better display IMO
