Alastair, I'm really considering one of these but have the obvious worry about Sky HD. Can this panel be made to accept the correct signal using an external scaler or other unit?
What do you recommend?

Same info required here please, currently using lumagen DVI scaler into Panasonic PW5. Also like to know the difference between the TH-50PHD7BS and the TH-50PHD7.
Thanks

You cannot give the panny HD7 720p, 1080i or 1366x768 over DVI at 50Hz.
It will take it all over component though.

However using the lumagen you could send it 720p or 1080i converted from 50Hz to 60Hz over DVI, but personally I would rather downconvert it to 576p@50Hz as I can not stand fram rate conversion.

Having said all the above, there are DVI to RGB converters out there and Sky have said the first boxes for early adopters will have component anyway, so I think it will be fine. If I thought I could get a fair price for my 42" PHD6 I would go for the 50PHD7 myself, superb screen and a superb price!
