Re: HOT HOT HOT! Logitech Squeezebox Duet @ £149.99
Odered one - What the heck - cheaper than the cables I normally buy....
If I can't use it I am sure a friend of mine in Essex will want it and at this price........... rude to say no.
Thanks again for highlighting this as I missed out on the Play.com deal at £180 odd quid, good thing I did!
Just need a NAS drive now - any suggestions for a suitable one for the Duet??
Ta,
Anthony

Hi Anthony.
I already own a Nas for my Duet system. Its the Netgear ReadyNAS Duo.
It comes complete with Squeezecentre already installed too
You can pick one up with a free 500gb hard drive via redemption until the end of July.
It works great and had in up & running now for the last 3 weeks. A great bit of kit in my personal opinion anyway.
Hope that helps.
Regards Dave

Dave,
Many thanks - any recommendations of where to get??? I am a big fan of the Netgear stuff and the router is Netgear so all good!
Anthony
PS Netgear offer runs to the end of Sept IIRC!!! No rush to buy the NAS without too much research...

Re: HOT HOT HOT! Logitech Squeezebox Duet @ £149.99
Martin,
Yep - gone back up to £219 - glad I took the plunge earlier. Stuck at home with the flu so glued to laptop.
Will take ages to turn up but looking to set up my first music network!!!!
Need to sort the NAS too - will take the time between ordering of the Duet and its arrival to get the NAS sorted and loaded up with music!
Anthony

Re: HOT HOT HOT! Logitech Squeezebox Duet @ £149.99
Cheers Gforce,
Amazon is slightly cheaper - I need to work out which one to get. The driveless one gets the free 500GB drive so £147 for a NAS drive - I would want to have dual drives though to backup!!!

Re: HOT HOT HOT! Logitech Squeezebox Duet @ £149.99
I have just purchased one of the latest Qnap NAS (219 I think). These have much better processing and memory than earlier versions. Should work well with the squeezebox. If you get it from Qnap they install squeeze centre and whatever else you want on it to your custom spec. for no additional charge.

Re: HOT HOT HOT! Logitech Squeezebox Duet @ £149.99
Thanks Steve,
The Netgear looks good and pretty cracking value. As this comes with Sequeezecenter already installed as well looks like a no brainer (plus using a Netgear router!!!).
Looking forward to getting the pesky thing now! Where to install? On my system upstairs or downstairs in the sitting room....hmmmm. Maybe get another receiver and use my iphone to control upstairs and the remote downstairs..... Richer Sounds are doing the receiver for £80 - would have been tempted to get two of the pesky things at £149 but need to see if I get on with it first!
Decisions!!!
Anthon
