Question HELP Please with connecting blu-ray DVD, home cinema system & skyhd+ to hd lcd tv

I'm completely new to this kind of thing and am in desperate need of help!
I have a Samsung LE40B650T2WXXU LCD TV, and I currently have Sky HD+ and a Samsung BD-P1600 connected to it. How do I also connect my Samsung HT-TZ225 home cinema system to it!?

Any replies are greatly appreciated, if possible can they be in 'complete idiot' guide form!?

If you want surround sound from your Bluray player and Sky+HD box via the home cinema system, you will need to buy a 3 way manual optical switch and 3 x optical cables.

The Sky+HD box and Bluray player will both connect to the input on the switch via optical cable. Set the Bluray player up for optical (digital) audio out and bitstream in its settings menu and the Sky+HD to "DOLBY D" under optical output in the sound settings menu. Then run another optical cable from the switch's output to the single optical input on the HT-TZ225. Select D-In or similar on the Samsung to hear audio from these external sources connected to the digital audio input.

The HT-TZ225 will connect to the TV via HDMI cable but as you have bluray, you could just use it for all discs and use the HT-TZ225 for audio only and therefore the HDMI cable would not be required. It would be easier to setup if you have the HDMI cable connected though and then you can get rid of the HDMI cable. HDMI cables don't cost much so you might as well connect it up though.

Question

Thanks for this. Sorry for appearing stupid, but do I need to buy another HDMI cable too? The other thing I forgot to mention was that I bought a Samsung SWA-4000 wireless transmitter. Does this make any difference to any of the info you have already given me?

I have an HDMI cable going from the blu-ray to the tv and 1 from the sky+hd box. The sky engineer told me that I wouldn't be able to use my home cinema system and blu-ray together though as he didn't think I had enough HDMI jacks - I have 4 altogether on the TV.What is the HDMI IN (DVI) jack for?

It's just another HDMI input except that if you're using a DVI to HDMI adaptor from a DVI output device e.g PC, you can connect a separate audio cable as DVI does not carry audio.
