Inside Chimney AV Rack?

Has anyone Managed to either build somthing inside there unused Chimney?

Im thinking either to build an AV Rack to store my pc and other AV items, or is this a waste?

I have my complete set up in the my inglenook fireplace, as we weren't lighting any fires. Gave us so much more room in the sitting room. Also helped with plasma as it is better shielded from ambient light.

This was done in an upstairs chimney breast aswell.

I'm just in the process of finishing this kind of set-up.

It started with simply hanging the new LCD on the wall and has finished up with a total room makeover!!

I demolished the chimney opening to the original 1880 opening and then built a unit to house all the AV gear and re-plastered the wall to make it all look nice.

I also ran cables for all the speakers behind skirting as well as cables for the kitchen and bedroom (HD feeds).

I'm sure it'll look nice when it's finally finished, I started in January!!!
