Question Cheap ideas for a granite worktops showroom

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here can help?

We need a cheap way of building a projecting system for our granite worktops showroom in Hertfordshire.

We are quite luck as we have quite a bit of space to mount a projector and surface for the projection, but we need some ideas for cheap ways of doing it.

We want to be able to display finished kitchens inside our showroom. From homes where we have actually fitted, where ther customers have agreed for this.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Andy

Re: Cheap ideas for a granite worktops showroom

Would it not be easier to use an LCD or Plasma screen? Especially as images will be hard to see clearly with a PJ unless you are planning to have this display in a dark room, which I doubt as your customers have come to see granite, not a movie.

Also a screen would be almost a plug and play set-up, a PJ set-up would be more involved, and probably more expensive.

I'm sure someone else will be along soon to disagree, but that's my advice....

Good luck with your project

Re: Cheap ideas for a granite worktops showroom

In a well lit showroom situation I don`t think a projector would be any good and the image would be all washed out and look rubbish.

Why don`t you by a plasma panel, really cheap these days and a dvd player, photograph all your kitchen displays and burn them to cd as a slide show and just use a dvd player, job done.

Oh by the way I`d remove your link to your showroom as its not allowed on here

cheers Al

Go for an LCD panel for this purpose, the plasma will suffer horrendous burn in. This is from personal experience.

If the pictures were on say an SD memory card, aren't there tvs that have card slots, and would the tv then play the slideshow direct?
