Bedroom Project - Underfloor Laminate Lighting

Hi,

Im decorating my bedroom, I'm a student who lives at home, I have a box room so am quite limited on what I can do lol. Anyway I have painted it and glossed etc, all looking quite nice.

Anyway, I'm having laminate flooring put down, 1.95m2 to be exact.

I have order some floor LED lighting by Micromark; this to exact.
Micromark Colour Changing Round LED 8 Pack Lighting Kit MM74708 - SPECIAL OFFER PRICE!! - £49.95 - MCCLKR8 - - BuyaParcel.com - £3.95 Delivery On All Orders!

I know somebody who has them and they are great. Just wondering if anybody has pictures or tips on this.

Thanks

Re: Bedroom Project - Underfloor Laminate Lighting

Hi Ben

my only concern here mate is how you`ll run the wiring under the floor then cover with the laminate, you`ll then have to fish the wiring after drilling the holes.

Or have you got access from below

I would prefer to use brushed chrome ones though as I can`t help but think that polished ones will eventually get scratched and start loooking a bit tired.

do let us know though mate as its a big learning curve for us and take plenty of pics of the progress

cheers Al

Re: Bedroom Project - Underfloor Laminate Lighting

Cheer Al, when I am a bit of newbie here, so I'm just getting into it.
I will take plenty of pictures during the whole process.

Laminate flooring light fitting

This link give quite a nice short tutorial on how to do it, seems easy enough to follow.
I have not had the laminate flooring down as of yet, all ordered though, will keep you updated.

Thanks

Re: Bedroom Project - Underfloor Laminate Lighting

Hi Ben

seems simple enough mate providing the floor joists go the same way as the lights, or if the cableing just runs under the laminate even easier.

Anyway either way should look good so looking forward to your pics

cheers Al

Re: Bedroom Project - Underfloor Laminate Lighting

Yeah I will post the pictures next week when it is done, im lucky to have a cabin bed built into my room, so I can run the cabling into there. Massive amounts of storage space underneath it lol.

My project is nothing compared to yours though lol!
