Help needed with Such's Lounge please

My thread is here: Such's Lounge project (Thanks to Groove & Homerdog )

but I may get more replies if I post a short question here.

After a disagreement with the missus over rear speaker placement, I need to make good these holes, without having to strip the wallpaper and start again!
The cable is channelled into the wall. i will be placing smaller speakers (much smaller) maybe Monitor audio r90's or r45 just below or over where the cable exits

I was hoping that the new speaker would cover the holes, but the brackets are likely to be much smaller than the hole spacing, which is 10cm. The fixings are rigifix M6 with just the plugs in.

I was thinking of maybe a small square of wood screwed in then papered with the new speakers on top?

Any better ideas pls

You could go with the peice of papered wood... or how about a picture frame, replacing the glass with papered wood panel and then attach the speaker, framing the speakers, you can call it 'art' then!
