Ceiling Mount a PJ - Hide the wires - trunking the best way?

I hope someone can help me with the first of my DIY questions. I'm moving into a nice new flat with the lounge some 14' square. As well as the HDTV on the wall, I'm going to have my receiver and HTPC on a hifi stand in a corner. From this I'll feed the PJ with a (long) HDMI cable. The PJ sadly doesn't run on perpetual energy either so I have to pipe both the power and the HDMI to it, or it's just a fancy lamp.

However, I'm renting it so other than drilling for the bracket, I can do no more (no passing the cables into the loft or floorboards). Is my only option to run a long, long euro lead for the power and a just as long HDMI for the pic up there in some (sticky back) trunking?

Will a long euro/kettle lead be ok (to run from the wall socket, along the skirting, up the wall and along the ceiling - approx 10 metres)?

Will a 10-15m HDMI be ok - are they ok up to 30m?

Any other suggestions?!

Re: Ceiling Mount a PJ - Hide the wires - trunking the best way?

That is exactly what i did gunark and it will work perfectly

I got black D-Line trucking from B&Q and ran both a HDMI cable and ICE power cable up to my projector, there is a bigger selection of sizes of white trunking available, and the sticking back system works great and is completely solid! This solution installed neatly will be very discrete.

This is the HDMI lead i would recommend I bought it myself and it works perfectly no loss of quality at all and they have a great guarantee!

HDMI CABLE Premium Plus - 15 Metres Cable

Then kettle lead wise you can't go wrong with this and it is same as what I bought and works a treat, however it only is 10m.

10m IEC Power Cable - UK 3 Pin Plug to Kettle Plug Power Lead Only £10.27 at TVCables

Hope this helps

my kettle lead is 8metres works fine.got it from maplins.
you have to be carefull with the trunking to place it exactly where you want it first time or as i found out the sticky back can remove your plaster

Fantastic - just what I needed to know. I realise the issue with the sticky back, hopefully the ceiling is painted not plastered so only paint will peel.

Cheers, I'll be putting a build step-by-step up when I do it, should hopefully be a build that I've been building (!) up to with all my wants together in one place!
