New LCD mounted on wall
Hi.
Second time on installing an LCD to a wall. Last time my friends now its my brothers.
So i thought id give pulling wires through the wall a try. It was a daunting task but never the less it got done
So got the cables through and the wall mount up and it looks like this.
In the above pic i have just drilled out a hole near the mount and then a hole at the bottom where the cables will exit. Its so i dont have to use anything like conduit running up the wall.
Got the TV this morning at 7am from Makro ughhh and came home from college and mounted it up.
Only slight problem if someone can help me. There is a big design flaw when it comes to the aerial port. It cant be plugged in as the wall mount tv fixtures are blocking it slightly. I need somesort of bendy adaptor or thin cabling end.
Help? As i havnt ran any Scart cabling for an external freeview box.

Re: New LCD mounted on wall
I had the same problem with my ultra slim tv mount and used this:
[IMG] [/IMG]
From here: Right-Angled Coax TV Aerial Plug > Maplin
It was still a tight squeeze but fitted where as a normal lead had no chance of fitting in!
Hope that helps
Alz

Re: New LCD mounted on wall
What did you use to get the cables through please? Taped to a coat hanger and pushed down to the bottom?
I'm hoping I can do the same but doubt the gap in a dot and dab wall will be big enough to allow a scart plug through..

Cheers, I would probably been able to do it in 1 day if i had all the equipment at the ready. Looking for a tv was a pain because Comet stopped a deal on a Toshiba 40" 1080P LCD TV.

Erm what i did was drilled out two holes in the wall. One at bottom and other at top. and just improvised. I got a nokia charger cable dropped that down until i could see it at the bottom hole. Attached some string onto the end and pulled it up. Fed that through and attached these:
HDMI Cable
DVI-HDMI Cable
Power Extension cable (Plug removed)
Aerial Cable
I added a piece of string to each cable when feeding it through and did them one by one.
I havnt added a scart lead to this set up as everything is going to run in High Deff now except the Aerial lead.
What you could do for the scart is to get phono cables instead.
Hope this helps
