Home Cinema intros

For a long time I wanted my own personalised Home Cinema intro but because I kept changing things I knew I would end up wasting money. So inspired by some Andrew Kramer tutorials I started to create my own partly for the challenge and partly for fun and so that I could change them when I wanted to.

I have now produced a number of these which can be seen on Vimeo Steve Nye's videos on Vimeo

The latest one I have just completed is a new intro based upon the Andrew Kramer's pro-scores material and thought I would upload a generic version (the one on Vimeo is the version for my cinema) for anyone who wants it.

It is in M2TS format and is HD with 5.1 sound, it can be played on a HTPC or a PS3.

In the RAR file are, in addition to the main intro, a number of small individual M2TS files. The idea of these was that they could be combined with other material using a utility like TS MuxeR(freeware) SmartLabs tsMuxeR to create a longer seamless intro mixing trivia, previews and other material, quite quickly.

Or on the other hand just use the main intro on it's own.

I like the idea of intros but to be honest I am just not that good at doing them, If you can do one for me saying " welcome to marks home cinema " I would be very greatful.

Are there any how to's on this?

Does the intro play automatically?

Basically the files can be played on either a PS3 or on an HTPC using the software you would normally use to play back a Blu-ray disk.

Once downloaded the file could be viewed using VLC (a freeware media player) or a reasonably chunky PC.

To play back I transfer the file to my PS3 using a flash USB drive and either play from the USB drive directly or by transferring to the PS3 hard drive and playing from there.

At the moment that is not automatic but when I get my blu-ray player I am planning to use the PS3 (on movie nights) to play intros etc and play the disc themselves from the blu-ray player expecting to do some form of macro on my remote to make it reasonably seamless.
