AV cabinet and ventialtion/cooling help

just got a small av cabinet.

I need some input regarding ventilation/cooling. I'm placing a sony amp and a ps3 in it but they juts fit in.

is this enough space for the amp and PS3 to cool?

Or are the sides too close to the cabinet?

I will be making larger holes at the back, for cabling also and to aid cooling.

Any help appreciated. Thanks

Re: AV cabinet and ventialtion/cooling help

switch their positions and you should be fine, amp needs significantly more ventialtion than the ps3, or simply remove the shelf above the amp.

oh and to be safe I would stand your 360 up as it ventilates from the SIDE. so confining it could cause you problems, where as im not sure on the ps3 but I would check if I were you

Re: AV cabinet and ventialtion/cooling help

abdus i would not be happy to use em like that, your ps3 as air vents on the right hand side as well, which are now blocked, well im guessing they are air vents, thats what they look like to me on mine,

xbox is well known for over heating, and i think you will be helping it more so,like grangey_civicsr said, would be better off standing it up,unless thats not what you want, ive put some blocks of wood under my xbox to help with ventilation as well,as theres vents there,as it sits so close to floor level when on its own little rubber pads thats on as standard imho

Re: AV cabinet and ventialtion/cooling help

I've moved the PS3 to the middle section. (where the amp is), put the amp on top of the cabinet (doesn't look that bad)

Not to forget there will be an HD DVD player to go on the shelves above the amp (as it stands now in the pics above)

Regarding the xbox, the cabinet isn't high enough to put it standing up. So i guess raising it on blocks would be the better solution.

virgin box will go in place where the PS3 is now.

I will post some more pics later. Thanks for your replies. Appreciate it
