Large Floating Shelve Brackets

Hi All,

I am attempting to make a large floating shelf that will be placed at the corner of two walls for extra support but I am in need of appropriate concealed brackets/supports I can fix on both walls for adequate strength for the size of shelf. Does anyone know of something that I can use - I have found some pics of something that may be ideal but cannot source them anywhere! Also below is a pic of what I am trying to achieve! Any help would be greatly appreciated as all my efforts have proved fruitless so far!

Thank You!

Suave!

Re: Large Floating Shelve Brackets

Suave - haven't seen anything that size - I know Homebase do the bog standard ones - I've got some in my office. They are nowhere near strong enough though - they bend with a few lever arch files on!

Have you considered using studding or round bar? You could get the appropriate size (say 15mm?) and resin anchor them into the wall - that would certainly be strong enough.

Screwfix sell the studs and the resin - though having seen what they're charging for the studding - you could probably save money by improvising via a local scrap yard.
