xls200 pr

I have asked BK today via email.. but what do you guys reckon adding a pr to an xls200 will do? I have plotted curves on winisd and it seems to improve extension but I am an absolute novice when it comes to winisd.

Re: xls200 pr

Unless you can do it extremely cheaply (I'm guessing you would need to up the amp too), I really can't see the point mate.

I suppose it depends what you're after, but if it's bigger sound from a small box, you might do better to sell your sub and buy an SVS SB12+ or similar.

If size is not a problem, just go for a Monolith or SVS PB/C or similar.

Here's something that might interest you, but you've most likely read it seeing as you're contemplating going down that road;

BK XLS-300/pr

Re: xls200 pr

when adding a PR to a xls200 you need a bigger cabinet
the xls200 uses 18 liters and with a PR you need 31 liters
have a look here

agree with everything you both have said do I.

I have an svs pb10 but it is too big, hell even the xls300pr is a bit too wide for me.

So diy seems to be the way to go - my box will be approx wxhxd 12.5x12.5x17, to match my allcam 60" plasma stand. I will paint it gloss black to match also.

I guestimate that my internal volume should be near 30litres.

I may go for 2 x pr??

The driver will be downward facing - the pr's will be on the sides. Total stealth.

Amp - suggestions? (want to keep project to £300 in total)

xls10 - £60 (target price)
xls10pr - can't find a deal on this so it's looking like £50 from bk
amp - help!!! but looking at about £120
materials - £70

or! should I stop being silly and just buy a sb12+

Re: xls200 pr

Is there no way you can accomodate an xls300?

Thing is, if you spend £300 on stuff for your xls200 and it sounds crap, you've just blown £589 on speaker cones and firewood. I'd leave well alone.

too wide - it's 400wide. I can only accomodate 320. But i can increase depth to 430.

I don't have a sub at the moment - I have sold my svs pb10.

parts will be around £300 and that will include 2 x pr's increasing output over an xls300.

If it sounds cr4p then I won't have done my homework correctly and that will be my bad!

Re: xls200 pr

You were asking about getting an SB12+, but that is 14" wide, so is too wide.

What about placing it elsewhere? or is that not a viable option?

Re: xls200 pr

try to redesign the cabinet, but just stick to the 31 lites
with 1 PR the xls10 plus PR will go to 20 hz -3db
the same as the PB10 which is great for movies

Good idea, build your own box and put the speakers and amp in yourself. Probably the cheapest way to do it.

I remember reading that they are only 13.5" wide - that is near to the max.

has anyone got any suggestions for an amp plate around the £100 mark?
