Help on hiding the doors

I have just bought the new pioneer 60" and an avion noir cabinet.
Now this is replacing my 50" that was in the Bay window.

Trouble is the new tv is huge and the bay virtually has disappeared.

My wife has asked that I turn the whole room round 180 degrees.
This will be a nightmare as I have to re run all my cables but she is allowing me a whole range of new speakers.

Main problem is the tv will now stand infront of double doors leading into our dinning room. Now these doors are not used so thats fine but how can I hide them behind the tv?

I was thinking of boarding them up, the hardware is easy but im no good at the design. I wont it too look realy nice but what can I do with the board. IE lights behind it or something.

Any bright ideas out there?

Why not go the whole hog and build a false wall in front of the doors and then hang your TV there?

As you can see the doors sit right behind in the middle of the screen.
I was thinking of spacing out from the wall a large sheet of plaster board to cover the doors and paint it.
I dont want to mount the tv on the wall as then I would have to build some heavy weight structure into the door frame.

Also I would like to be able to remove it all at a later date if we move and return it to normal.
So preferebly leaves the doors intact.They will still be seen from the dining room.

Struggling to think of any options for hiding the double doors, simply covering them with something of the same width will look out daft as narrower and taller than the television.

If you're prepared for a small amount of work, why not build a frame, width and height in proportion to the wall/television (so you can almost draw a line from the top corner of the TV, through the top corners of the frame and into the top corner of the wall). Place MDF over the frame so then you've got a space behind to hide cabling etc. When you move you can just take the frame down, fill a few holes and it's back to normal.

Why don't you try the wall to the left of the bay? Only problem I can see with that is viewing distance, but it's got to be worth a try.

Cheers for pointing that out. The idea about the frame sounds good to me, effectively you're making a floating wall to hang the TV off. Might be a little work but I think it'd be well worth it, very practical and will offer you the most aesthetic solution to boot.
