6 day living room DIY mods.

I have had a rubbish set up for a while so i bought a new 7.1 Full HD AV receiver last month and went nuts with some DIY. Think the results are pretty sweet. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions. Its my first DIY (aside from painting) so it was a learn as we go along process that took approx 6days (2 full days with 2 people and 4 days with me on my own until help arrived at 5pm).

The Old Setup (approx 2 years ago):

Then the slightly newer setup (approx 1 year ago):

This was the setup 2 weeks ago just prior to getting my new AV reciever:

Then the work began:

Removed storage heater and started making holes for TV and speakers:

Running wires:

Bracket up for TV and painting started:

Things starting to come together - walls painted, plastered and TV up. Flooring started:

The (almost) finished article. (skirting still need to be done) my Amp and my Sky and Xbox are in the book shelf at the far end of the room.

The rear right speakers:

SO FAR SO GOOD:

Comments etc please!!

Nice mate I have just taken the plunge and wall mounted my plasma although job not yet finished. I like your flooring and have been looking for that colour myself - where did you get yours?

Re: 6 day living room DIY mods.

It was about £12 a Square M from the (ridiculously unhelpfull) people at B&Q. It was really easy to do, took about 12 hours work to do the whole hallway and living room. with 2 people a ruler and an £8 hand saw. I recommend using a saw with small teeth.

Re: 6 day living room DIY mods.

Thanks for the info. I've looked in my local B&Q Superstore but didn't see anything as dark as that and I'd have thought they would have everything there. I've installed laminate before so know at to expect and normally use a jigsaw with fine blade for cutting. Thanks again for the gen and look forward to seeing your finished photos.

The B&Q near me is a massive supercentre so maybe travel a bit and get to a big ein for a better selection
