Floating wall for Rental Apartment

So i live in an apartment that I rent. I want to have a floating wall to hold my 42" panasonic tv (66 lbs) but I dont want to destroy the wall behind the floating wall. How can i create this Floating Wall but leave a minimal footprint on the wall behind. I already have an idea of how i want it to look but need some help on how to actually mount it to the wall, where to mount the bracket to, etc. My apartments walls are sheetrock and wood studs, no brick and I am thinking about using 1/2 in thick mdf. Any help will help. Thanx....

i would put a big thick piece of mdf or a couple of thick sheet's of hard wood and screw in 4 massive carriage bolts (enough to hold 66 lbs +) in to the studs from the corner.

Then you can build your false wall from that structure , bear in mind im no diy expert but this is just a suggestion.


p.s all you will have is 4 big holes to fill and paint over.

Cant picture what you are trying to explain....can you elaborate.???
