before i start my floating wall!

ok so im gona take the plunge and go for a floating wall effect.here are some pics of the living room at the mo,i have a 50'' samsung plasma coming in the next 2 weeks bought the bracket for the wall and would like you guys to give me some input of what way i should go.
the 2 colours are from the crown suede effect range of emulsions,it kinda feels like sandpaper and its a nice effect and as you can see im still taking off the border that broke up the colours before i put up the rail.
the colours are tan suede and the other is plum they really go well together i think.
anyway im working off something like groove's lounge setup and would like your opinions on the tv wall colour and what colour the floating wall should be the fireplace will be replaced with a modern chunky wood type within the next year and the sofas will be replaced by black leather recliners before the xmas.
any input would be great
thanks in advance

Re: before i start my floating wall!

I will probably go with taking the dado rail down and going all 1 colour and the other colour on that big wall for the tv.
Not exactly sure yet so any input would be great.
Hopefully i can stick with the same colours just mess around with them some how!!!

Re: before i start my floating wall!

ya bud it does actually look well.
what i might do so is take down my dado rail and have the walls tan suede and the tv wall and floating wall plum.
i dont have any amps or speakers as yet, still wondering which 1s to go for and how many cabinets underneath the plasma.
groove inspired me big time!!!
thanks groove
totally glad i found this forum.

Saying that , there are some fantastic examples on here now , all of them with a slightly different take , and all of them have turned out stunning. Keep the pics coming , cant wait to see how it all ends up.

Re: before i start my floating wall!

Well i went for it anyway and bought a sammy ps50a456 and it looks great.
Anyway i went to take off the dado rail and most of the paint came off with it so i had to scrape it back to where it was tight, half the room came off so more or less i had a blank canvas.
It was weired to see the walls bare after 27 years and all those years of paint filled 3 refuse sacks.
i will post pics later we are nearly there thank god.
