HELP!!

My plan was to get the bees nees of a Plasma in the form of a 9th Gen 50" Pioneer, now I'm not so sure.

I've just bought my first flat and the front room is huge. 17' x 20'. This means that where the Plasma and settee will be placed, there will be a 20' viewing distance! I'm thinking this will be too far away for the 50" Pio Plasma to be fully appreciated? And there's no way I can afford the 60".

The way I see it, I have two options;

1. Get the 50" Pio as originally planned but "move" the settee etc and living plan towards the Plas and utilise the space behind for something else (dining table / pool table or whatever) but I don't really wanna do this to be honest.

2. Leave the room as originally intended and get a cheaper 50 or even 60" Plas for general TV watching and then install a HD ready projector for films, footy etc.

Thought / suggestions?

What sort of screen size would I be looking at getting for a 20' projection distance?
How much would I be looking at for a 1080p projector and screen?

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Dilema

Hmmmmm.....

So it looks like I'm looking at about £2k for a 1080p projector plus £2-300 for a screen.

Plus £3k for a "cheap" 60" Hitachi P60XR01.

This could get expensive.

Moving the living plan closer to the wall is looking the more attractive option!!!

Re: Dilema

I would suggest not going projection and having a 60" too. Save some money and just get a 42" Plasma for watching news / soaps etc and spend the saving on a nice proj set up.

Many of my customers find that this combination works well.

Dupe...
