Updated Lounge......... Finally

I have included some before and after pictures of my lounge refurb. At the heart lies a 50pz70, currently debating which av receiver to purchase which will eventually run a set of jamo satelite speakers which can be seen in situ.

Work in progress on the lighting, which as of yet still undecided as to which way to go on the main lighting cluster.Need to decide whether to paint the skirting or go au naturale...

Before and after

Excuse my camera skills ....

That is really nice! I'd also be undecided as to what to do with skirting in your shoes too!

What have you done to the chimney breast? It looks fantastic!

Re: Updated Lounge......... Finally

If the chairs in the picture are the only or main chairs in your living room then it seems to me that you will have to turn your head to be able to view the television. I also hope that your tv will not be damaged by your door because from those pictures it seems like that may happen.

It looks good though and i can tell that it will look very nice when it is all finished.

Looks nice.

I'd go with staining the skirting a similar colour to the floor.....but you already have your door frame white so will probably look better in white....

Re: Updated Lounge......... Finally

Appreciate the comments.

The chimney breast is chocolate brown suede by Crown.

There is another 3 seater sofa which is out of view and facing the rear window wall .

The skirting indeed is the dilemna. Ive just had the complete dowstairs redone in oak planks, a few have suggested painting the skirting whilst others varinshing a finish to match.I think the latter will be difficult to get the exact match...I think more research is required.

Still work to do on the finishing, mulling over rugs, new seating, lighting and artwork.

Re: Updated Lounge......... Finally

Hi

that looks a lot better.

regards the skirting, uinless you`re a lover of glossing (which I detest doing personally) I`d leave them natural and in fact would also strip the door as well. We did this in our last house and emulsioned the walls in a nice neutral colour and it just "lifted " the house dramatically which is why we`ve done the same with our new build. The pine will naturally darken on its own and blend in better with the floors as well

Anyway well done mate

Al
