Advice on lcd tv in boxed stud wall (ventilation)

I am currently building a sunroom at the back of my house. I am enclosing a 42" plasma and three front speakers in a stud wall. As you can see from the pictures i have routered the left , right and the top of the mdf in the enclosure for the tv.

I am just wondering will this give enough ventilation for the tv. There is a 250mm void between the block wall and the back of the studs. There will also be a 1" gap around the tv when it is mounted on its bracket. It will be flush with the finished wall.

The television - Panasonic th42px80
Front speakers - Monitor Audio bronze ref fx pair and a Monitor Audio ref lcr

Those cables with the white ends are hdmi cables in case ur wondering. They have white tape on them so they dont get wrecked

My TV is in a very similar enclosure, except its made from plasterboard , I have left a 2 inch gap all the way round and have only added ventilation at the top by means of a series of holes ( would have loved to have had access to a rowter) . Like this i have ample ventilation so given you have done the sides as well I cant see you having an issue,

The ventilation looks good, but if I had one comment that centre cable looks VERY thin for driving those quality speakers you are going to use, can not really see the L&R cable. Or is it just a draw wire?.

I would also question the lack of audio cables from the TV back to AV amp, I would always put in 4 line level cables for L+R IN and L+R OUT on the TV. This enables you to use the tuner in your TV for normal TV, and you can still use the AV amp to get Dolby pro logic 2 etc (L+R OUT).

L+R IN can be used if you send DVD soundtrack over HDMI to AV amp, the TV can not decode this (normaly it will only decode 2 channel over HDMI) for watching late at night so you may need the L+R OUT on the DVD fed directly to TV, small point, but depends on how you intend to use the system.

Also, put in 2 or 3 Cat5e, they can be used in the future for control or get-out-of-jail if a HDMI fails etc.....

Yeah m8 its just a draw wire. I ran out of cable. I used most of it for the standing speakers at the back wall. A wee visit to Richersounds tomorrow will cure that

I am a newbie really at this. In my sitting room i have never really used my tv speakers as i have always used my amp and wall mounted speakers. The sound from the tv's speakers is crap. Do you reckon the sound from my new tv and my onkyo 605 will be good ? I dont really need to worry about late night viewing as the noise from my sunroom wont waken anybody in the house as the beds are on the other side of the house.

Good point about the cat 6 cables. I pulled in another 3 just in case

Just like to point out that your tv is a PLASMA, not LCD.

Hahahhaahha Whoops. Just used to everybody talkin about lcds. I have heard that the tv is very good but is there any better tvs out at the minute ?? I would be willing to spend around a grand for a good one

Plasterer was here yesterday and will be back this morning. Startin to take shape

Thought i would update this a bit. Plasterer is finished so here is a pic of the finished wall. Plumber is comin on Monday , guy comin to lay the floor on Tuesday so hopefully i will be able to install my new system next Sat/Monday. Cant wait
