Recessed Plasma in stud wall questions!!

I'm in the middle of a whole house extension/renovation project (I will get round to doing a thread on it like Al's) and at the weekend I am supposed to be building a stud wall to sink the plasma into. I do not have the plasma yet (can anyone recommend a top 42" Full HD screen then?) and I don't particularly want to buy it yet as I'm not living at the house and all the dirty work i.e plastering is still to be done. I do have the bracket as I want to resin bolt it to the wall then build the stud around it so that I have about a 2" gap around the screen and the screen flush with the front. I'm hoping to decide on the screen today so that will be simple to get the measurements I need BUT what I don't know is how will the bracket line up with the holes on the back so that I can get the screen dead centre? Is it a case that the screen has several holes for adjustment?

How deep have others recesses been?

Cheers

Tony

Re: Recessed Plasma in stud wall questions!!

My plasma bracket has hooks that fix onto the back of the plasma and a rail which screws to the wall. I can the slide the plasma up and down the rail quite freely ( to a point) so I didn't need to overly worry about getting it dead centre. Obviously you'll need to worry about the vertical as well which you will need to get right.

I know the bracket has horizontal adjustment in the same way you describe but I can't see how I can get the vertical position right without actually having the TV hooked up to the bracket to take measurements?

Re: Recessed Plasma in stud wall questions!!

Hi Tony

the only way is to pick the screen you are having and whilst in the shop take measurements

or try looking on the net at the manufacturers figures and see if you can do it that way but the first is a better option

sounds like your well on the way mate so we need pics quick
