Ventilation and spotlamps question

Hi

I am currently planning to convert a small garage with a bedroom above into an hc but was wondering if you put spot lights in the ceiling that they will allow sound to pass to the room above and also does the room need to be ventilated and does this also leek sound.
If you have done the above to your room how have you kept it sound proof?
Cheers for your help.

Re: Ventilation and spotlamps question

I install these spots whenever acceptable.

It says fire rated, but they are also rated for moisture and sound.

Re: Ventilation and spotlamps question

Current regs require you to use fire rated enclosures on spots when they penetrate a ceiling with a room above, so you should use the appropriate type. As J T says, this should also limit the sound more than the old type.

However, if you're watching an action movie in your cinema, the rest of the house will know about it, that's for sure! - If they don't, you're not watching it loud enough!!!
