Cables in Working Chimney
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice? I have a 50 inch Samsung plasma which is situated on the outside of a non working chimney (flat wall not breast) I currently have drilled the wires through the chimney and out of the other side to connect into home cinema/sky etc. I want to put a working multi fuel stove with a 1 metre flue into the chimney and need some advice on the following : How concerned should I be about the tv on the wall - there is a mantlepiece so I don't expect it to be subject to any direct heat but has any one had any problems with this? With regards to the wires (electric and video?) do you think it would be ok to bury them 3 inches deep in the chimney and plaster over it? Or can anyone recommend a coating/conduit to put over them before burying them? Or am I asking for trouble trying to leave them in there at all? I really don't want to start chasing out the wall next to the TV. Thanks! Blakey ![]() |
