Proposed lounge room layout

Guys what do you think of this proposed layout?

Any ideas what i can do with a fireplace as i need some inspiration? At the minute it resembles a grave with all the marble and i would like some modern looking.

Im looking at using either a 42" or 50" plasma and think the layout ive chosen would be perfect for the surround sound layout although i think the window glare may be more prominent.

don't worry about glare, plasma tv's are far better than crt's.

Just go for it, you can always pull the curtains!

Its roughly 4metres by about 5.5metres.

The whole idea of what to do with thefire place is throwing me though. I like the idea of an open fire and the cosyness of it when the fire is lit but im not sure how to make it all tie in with the rest of the room which will be in a minimalistic style. Its very different at the minute with a Victorian marble & iron style effort.
