Extension with Home Cinema Room
Hello all,
I never thought I would be saying that one day, but yeah!!! I am having an extension built and one of the room (Study) will be my dedicated Home Cinema Room / Bedroom to keep the wife happy. What I am trying to achieve it is a good all rounder sound and movies. Upgrade to full HD when finance permiting after this rather costly extension.
I want to be able to control everything from a good remote control like the Logitech Harmony 1000 in this room. And as we will go through major redecoration works and redo the electric, I will network the all ground floor with network points in every room for a Sonos system.

Building work started this Monday and this is what happened so far. They managed to remove a nasty piece of concrete left over from the conservatory foundations that was at the back of the house.

Hi there Geoxis . I'm gonna be watching this thread with great interest as I spent the first 12 years of me life growing up in good old Worcester Park !
If you decide to get a harmony 1000 and need any help setting it up then give us a shout and I'll do my bit if I can.
I bet it's changed a helluva lot since I was last there lol.

Ok, the room dimensions are:
(Length) 5m x (Width )2.80m that makes it is roughly 14 square meters. Ceiling height I will be looking to achieve around 2.50m.
On the right hand side wall (when facing the window), because of the existing house structure, I cannot have the bit of wall coming of 30cm in the room changed to have a perfectly rectangle room - shame  , but well, you can't have everything can you?

Thats a good size room, not too big and not too small. I personally prefer it at the size you have rather than it being large and less cosy.
Keep us updated with pics etc and we will help where we can.

They have started the foundation work god it is a lot of mud. Considering they are doing it all by hand... They working pretty fast!
I have also attached what I intend to realise in my room, I hope it is clear enough...
