Wall mounting my TV

Sorry guys not sure if this is the right place.

I am getting a new 42" for the front room but do not want to waste the Philips 26" that is currently there so thinking of either putting it on the wall in the kitchen or bedroom. I live in a new house, less than a year old so it is obviously built using plaster board. What is the best route to mount it on the wall so that it does not fall off.

This bracket seemed to look good. Is it anygood, anyone experienced it also and recomendation on ensuring it will not fall, fixing etc.

Cant comment on the bracket, but under the trade act (fit for purpose etc) i cant see why it shouldn't do the job.

As for fitting the bracket, what wall is it going on to ie an outside wall (in which case you will have plasterboard dot and dab on to brick) or a internal wall (in which case you will have to see if you have metal or wooden studs)

Re: Wall mounting my TV

I've got a 26 inch tv in the bedroom mounted on a plasterboard stud wall between a store room. I used spring fasteners to secure it and it's been up two years now.

You can pay through the nose at B&Q or get them from screwfix. You have to make sure you;ve got a nice gap behind as you drill a larger hole and push the whole clip in, it springs out and you tighten up.

You can see what I mean here

Totally agree Paul. Most people are so over engineering the fixngs for wall hung tv's.

I have used these http://www.rawlplug.co.uk/index.php?...d=64&Itemid=34

I have also used the spring toggles too. Both good fixings.

Re: Wall mounting my TV

Thanks guys.

Paul that looks to be a good one to use.

It is on an internal wall between either bedroom and ensuite or kitken and dining room, dependant on the wife mainly. Both have maybe 4" of space between each wall.

Re: Wall mounting my TV

I'm just about to put up a 40" lcd on a plasterboard wall and have been reading the suggestions on how to do it. The fixings are a darn site easier than cutting a big hole in my wall, screwing timber to it etc

I suppose my concerns are the same as most - can I sleep at night knowing it will still be there in the morning?!

It's suggested that they're strong enough for radiators, so I'm thinking that should be a good indicator (?)
