Mounting plasma on wall help needed

I am just about to move into a new house and require a little advice on mounting my plasma (42" panny) on the living room wall.
I have had the screen on the wall in my current house and also on the wall in my previous house but these houses were modern timber frame construction and screwing the bracket into the studs was not a problem.
Anyway the new house I have bought is 35 years old and from the survey is a birck/blockwork construction. The walls on the inside are artexed which I plan to get skimmed.
Anyway what is the best way to mount a screen on an external wall in a house of this age (I also need to hide the wires).
p.s. I am pretty good at DIY.

Thanks

Re: Mounting plasma on wall help needed

haveing a real wall just makes life easier dig a channel out for the wires and use a piece of piping big enough to get yor cables through and when you plaster over make sure you leave a nice sized exit hole at either end, one obviously being behind the screen. then just use the large screws and raw plugs to mount on the wall. I think the ones i used were M8 seems to rng a bell but check anway they have a hex head on them
