New setup, advice needed please!

hey guys,

glad i found this forum as i think you will be able to help.

I just bought a 40" Samsung HD LCD TV and my wall bracket. I already have SKY HD installed in the house, and was wondering how i am going to get the scart from the SKY tv box to the TV on my wall?

Its a new house, and the builders installed a plug socket and an ariel socket to the wall where my tv is going to be mounted so no worries with them wires being hidden, i just cant fathom how i can get the scart wire from the SKY box to my tv without it being shown.

The TV is going on the back wall, and the SKY box is in the corner (on the same side) to its right. The SKY box is going to stay there in a cabinet with the dvd player etc.

Now the questions. Do i need to feed the scart through the wall to the TV? i cant think of any other way it can be done?

Thanks in advance

This is a project I am contemplating myself. If you have a stud partition wall with plasterboard you should be able to cut a channel with a utility knife. You may come across a horizontal part of the stud however - have a look at this thread which expkains things better:

You can also buy special faceplates where the cable exits the wall to keep it tidy looking, like these ones:

Good luck - and post your project here so I can steal your ideas!

Re: New setup, advice needed please!

You've got Sky HD and an HD (HD ready?) TV and you're using Scart to connect them ? ? ?

This will not give you HD, only SD. For HD you should use an HDMI cable.
This uses a much more compact connector which will be much easier to fish through a stud wall.

regards
