Mini project - Bedroom wall hung LCD - pics inside

As a very inept DIYer I was a bit nervous about doing this! However, I am quite pleased with the results. Let me know what you think.

Day 1

The objective of the project was to wall mount my LCD TV and cover over the fireplace. The frame you can see in the middle of the stud frame, I was going to attach the bracket to. On completion though, the TV stuck out too far from the wall, even further than the line of the wardrobes. So I had to cut a larger hole for the bracket and remove the 'frame' from the centre bit. The bracket is now attached to the actual chimney breast wall and the bracket is level with the plasterboard.

Day 6

This is near completion. All that's left is to paint wall, attach skirting and maybe re-install picture rail, and tidy up the electric cable in the wardrobe. The power cable for the TV, Rf cable and scart cable run from behind the stud wall into the RH wardrobe, so nice and tidy Also in there is my old Sony 725 dvd player, which maybe replaced soon for something Hi-Def capable. I got the TV from Empire Direct on the first day of opening in their new Chingford store. It's a Sharp 32" LCD PE70, picked up for a bargainous £399.

Thanks guys

I did mention the skirting in my post, oldnewbie. I will get around to doing it fairly rapidly, as we have a new bed being delivered at the beginning of June. Before that arrives, we have to get a carpet laid and paint etc. The walls have only got lining paper on at the moment.

Hi, it is lining paper over the plasterboard. I have yet to paint it. When I get a chance, I'll put an in-between pic up and also a finished one too.
