Hi guys.
I've been trawling through the threads getting ideas but need some help please. I'm having an extension built that will be a lounge/family room and also house my new (mostly unpurchased yet AV gear).
I had already asked the builder to run some cables as you can see on the wall where the plasma will be mounted.
There are also cables run for rear speakers and subwoofer.
I've today ordered a Panny 50" and bought this bracket;
I've now decided that it would actually be better to ask the builder to make a false wall so the plasma/bracket look flush mounted. I was thinking of only making the false like a chimney breast ie not the entire length of the wall
Problem is my plan was to have an lockable AV cabinet underneath the tv as I have a 6 month old baby who will soon start crawling. Now if I put an AV cabinet in front of the false it will stick out too much so should I have a recess 'cut' into the false wall for the cabinet? Problem is I don't have the AV cabinet yet and the builder will want to know tommorrow exactly what I want to do!
Questions are
1) If I want to be able to swing the screen out( on the bracket) to get to leads I'll need to leave some space between the screen and the recess margins. Is this what most people do?
2)Can anybody tell me the dimensions that I should have the recess cut to so as to house a cabinet that will hold amp(not bought yet) Sky HD and DVD player.
Sorry if info is a bit vague but as I haven't bought any of the kit yet except the tv and bracket I can't be more specific.
Pics of similar set ups appreciated.
Many thanks for any help/info/opinions
