Question cables coming through blank plate

on this site, I have heard and seen references to what look like brush bristles on a blank plate for cables to come through. Could someone give me a link to the topic that tells you how to make these.

Yes, just get a metal blanking plate with a hole in (or cut your own hole) then glue some draught excluder to the back.

You can buy a strip from B+Q cheaply enough, it's designed to go on the bottom of a door, just slide the bristles out of the metal holder and cut to size

Re: cables coming through blank plate

Dremel? i have used them to cut holes out of pc cases, guessing a blank plate would be thinner to so would be easier. Or drill pilot holes and then use a hacksaw

Dremel, drill, hacksaw, jigsaw, tin snips, nibblers, laser, plasma... take your pick.

Re: cables coming through blank plate

go to an electrical wholesaler such as City electrical factors "CEF" and ask for one of these
http://www.proteusswitchgear.co.uk/p...p?product=1915

or one of these in s/steel finish

http://www.proteusswitchgear.co.uk/p...p?product=1488

Will probably cost you about £3 or 4. You wont get them from B&Q or places like that, needs to be a proper electrical wholesaler.

Go here to find your nearest branch, they are nation wide so shouldnt be much trouble
