My New pad - My New TV setup

Right after buying my first place the lounge was mine to decorate. The rest of the bungalow was left to my Girlfriend

Money was tight and I had already bought a TV a few months back, really I would have liked a Better DVD/sounds system maybe next year

The plan:

Right, first off I found the best height for the TV and bought an adjustable wall mount. (www.digiuk.com)
I also had made some Custom glass for the Shelves

I had 2 double plugs put in behind the TV. I grinded out a nice long channel from the ceiling to the back of the TV to house the conduit. In that had the Sky Plus cable, Ariel, and 4 speaker cables.

Its finished now but I haven’t got an up to date photo but this will do. Ill post one tonight for you if you want

All the cables are now hidden and will properly be best to show you when I upload new pics of it

Comments welcome
Any way im new HELLO!!!

I love the custom glass shelves. What did you use for wall brackets?

Re: My New pad - My New TV setup

Why are the front speakers so high? Ideally they should be either side of the TV or at your seated ear height.

Re: My New pad - My New TV setup

Hi,

The brackets are from Focus and were about £5 a pair i was loooking at some huge brackets but there have worked a treat..

Seeing this is my first install i assumed that it made very little difference where they were, should they have been placed lower?

Thanks
Nick

Re: My New pad - My New TV setup

It may sound a little odd when watching a film if a sound pans from left to right e.g. a motorbike driving from left to right (visually). The sound will start up high (one of the fronts), drop to the centre and return the other front speaker.

Re: My New pad - My New TV setup

Looks a little lost to me and im not a big fan of a centre speaker placed on top of a dvd player?????

The idea of the glass shelves is good and nice to see you've tidied up those wires.
