Chimney Nightmare!!! Please Advise!

hiya everyone,

im trying to drill my chimney breast to reach the centre and drop the cables down to pull out the side but cant seem to get to the centre of the blumin chimney. drill a number of test holes at different locations but nothing is working! now i need to look for an alternative because chasing a russ andrews powercord and a monster m1000 hdmi is out of the question.

how can i sort this mess out?

Rather than chasing the cable into the wall, chase a 40mm waste pipe into the wall and feed the wires into that.

Re: Chimney Nightmare!!! Please Advise!

1 is your chimney breast level with the rest of the wall it's on, i assume yes.
2 is the wall your chimney breast is attached to a joining wall to another property if so it may not go straight up it may go left or right to allow for the other chimney.
3 again if the room above has a fire place the chimney may turn left or right.

So either you have to get a light and look up your chimney to see if you can see the change in direction or send some sort of flexible cane or drain rod or fibreglass rods up your chimney to feel what way it bends, you may have drilled some lovely holes into your neighbours chimney.

Hi,

You may have seen my thread regarding our chimney project. If not, take a look here and there may be some photos which are of help to you.

Finally got our Hitachi on the wall, see what you think

Best of luck,

Matt
