Infa red extender ?

Hi all
want to buy a infra red extender, want to put some hi-fi gaer in a cupboard and be able to control it without opening the doors all the time, can you buy a wired one around 1 mts long ? seen the rf ones but want a basic wired one that you do not have to plug into mains etc ?

Dunno if you can, how about getting a cupboard with glass or black glass, your remotes should work through it.
