I want to change the outer frame color of my plasma
Sorry if this has been asked before. But missus thinks that our old Panasonic plasma silver is a bit passe, so we want to change the frame colour.
Obviously i could get a new frame from Panasonic at a cost of many hundreds but is there a cheaper alternative?

If you can remove the frame, you could just respray it. Three cans of acrylic car paint from Halfords - one primer, one colour, and one clear laquer - will do the job for about 15 quid.

I seem to remember a while ago in the plasma forum, that someone got their
frame professionally sprayed. If I remember, it was around £200.
Try asking in the plasma forum mate.

IIRC Unicol offer this as a service, give em a shout and ask about it - getting it to them and back might be the expensive bit though - they are in Oxford(although not too bad if you have the original packaging)
That said, I haven't seen the results yet but Zap have resprayed one of ours for us - http://www.zap.uki.net/

I painted a silver lcd monitor surround black a couple of years ago. A couple of thin coats of primer, then 4 thin coats of black - looked great. Definitely spray thin coats to avoid running. It was only a 15" screen but should just be more of the same.

You could maybe mask the screen and paint without removing the panel maybe or have you thought about vinly, you can get all sorts of colours and designs. And if you don't like it peel it of and try a different colour.
