42sqm Room Layout help - before I start!

Hello to all, especially to those who have experience with L shaped rooms! I have recently had a wall taken out between kitchen and lounge to give me a massive 42 square metres of space...just waiting to be filled with home cinema! See below:

I have a Sony 50" Bravia in one corner, which I would like to use a 7.1 amp with. In another corner I have a 'media hub' PC which contains all the music & video.

If possible I want to install one set of speakers for both rooms, but the wife really won't be hapy if my DVD's blast out of her kitchen speakers. Yet when we're having a party I will want the music filling the whole room.

Basically I can't get my head round how to lay everything out. I know obviously I can get an audio feed from the PC into the amp, and I could even get a media centre type pc to sit with the tele.

Incidentally I have NTL broadband and no HDTV yet. There is also a Microsoft Xbox 360 with the tele, and I have the media centre extender set up on this. I find it a bit sluggish as I have more than 60gb of digital photos.

Any help/suggestions/advice you can provide are very gratefully received, thank you in advance for your time and effort.
