Cinema Room Size advice
Guys, hope you offer the benefit of your advice/experience.
I'm currently thinking of converting one of my bedrooms into a cinema room. The only problem is, it's not very big, and I don't know if the room would be suitable. The room itself only measures approx 305cmx285cm. Due to positioning of a window, I'm going to have to use the shortest distance of the room as the viewing distance (ie the wall behind me will be 285cm from the wall holding the screen in front). Otherwise I'd have the window behind me.
Do you reckon this is to small to bother with? Having used some of the screen calculators online, it's really difficult finding a screen small enough! It's still in the early planning stages, so I don't know what kit I'd be looking at just yet, which I know restricts things a little!
Cheers
Dave

It's not the size that matters but the quality of your equipment

The room size is no problem, my home cinema is in a room 2.76m x 2.46m and with a screen width just under 2m is fine.

Thanks for the replies so far guys . I'm guessing then that the main thing that'll affect the screen size is the projector. I was looking at the Optoma HD72i, but according to the calculators I've seen, with a throw distance of approx 2.5m I should get a screen of less than 1.5m width, do you guys use the zoom function on the projector to increase the picture size? Does this give any degredation?
Cheers
Dave

The zoom function can be used to adjust the picture size, see a projector calculator here http://www.projectorcentral.com/proj...ulator-pro.cfm to get settings of the various pj's. I dont know if the H72 is on there though.
The zoom function should not give any picture degredation, i have my H78 pretty much fully zoomed and notice no degredation in quality.
